Pindus: Tsouka Rosa to Karteros and Gamila - traverse

Hello Anyone

Just wondering if for an experienced walker it is possible to take a high route from the Tsouka Rosa pass in a Westerly direction over Meghala Litharia to the Karteros Pass and then the summit of Gamila?

It looks OK on Google Earth - but then lot's of things look OK on Google Earth

Possible yes but depending on the conditions . The best months are June throu September.
The route you are saing needs i think 10 hours or more come and go from astraka refuge or a night stop if its a cross country hike like that we did.(din't go to Tsuka Rosa),
We went over there around June 15 - 2012 and still was snow patches in Astraka Summit, Gammila , Litharia, and we secured ourselves (big team- compressed snow) with more than 120 meters of rope at karteros (we went down) plus 250m for the traverse later on. So if you continue and don't go down there but keep going to Tsuka Rosa (witch needs climpind expertise for final simmit) it will be ok .
